The EcoCraft Skills Guidebook is a practical learning resource created to support sustainability in design and craft practices. It complements the EcoCraft Skills Training Programme and can also be used independently by educators, learners, and creative professionals.
The guidebook explains key sustainability concepts in a clear and accessible way, focusing on real-world challenges faced by creative sectors. Rather than presenting theory alone, it provides practical guidance, tools, and examples that help users integrate sustainability into everyday creative work.
The guidebook addresses topics such as:
sustainability, circular economy, and lifecycle thinking
sustainable material selection and sourcing
low-impact production and waste reduction
upcycling and circular design approaches
transparent and responsible branding
In addition, the guidebook includes checklists, guides to eco-labels and certifications, recommended platforms and suppliers, and European good practice examples from the design and craft fields.
